Mylife Font Review: A Modern Script for Authentic Branding

I was in the middle of building a brand identity for a small skincare line when I first opened Mylife. The concept revolved around single-origin ingredients and a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The client wanted something that felt personal and handcrafted, but not overly decorative or difficult to read. I had a blank brand board in front of me, and I needed a typeface that could anchor the logo and carry the visual identity across packaging, social media, and a simple website. Within minutes of testing Mylife on a logo concept, I knew I had found the right fit. It immediately struck a balance between clean letterforms and expressive personality, which is exactly what the project needed.

First Impressions: Clean Lines and Personal Expression

Mylife is categorized under Script Amp, and it fully lives up to that classification. It is a modern script typeface that prioritizes readability and balance. The strokes are clean and even, and the letterforms feel carefully constructed rather than rushed. What sets it apart from many other script fonts is its restraint. It does not rely on heavy flourishes or exaggerated swashes to make an impact. Instead, the elegance comes from the natural rhythm of the connecting letters and the subtle variations in weight. The overall mood is contemporary and approachable, but it still carries a level of sophistication that works well for professional branding. It embodies the idea of personal expression without becoming messy or immature.

Where Mylife Shines: From Logo to Packaging

I tested Mylife across several touchpoints in the brand identity system, and it performed consistently well. The first test was the logo wordmark. The font's natural flow made the brand name feel like a confident signature. It had a handcrafted quality that immediately communicated authenticity. I paired it with a clean geometric sans-serif for the supporting copy, and the contrast was effective. The logo felt established and modern without being trendy.

From there, I moved to the packaging mockup. I placed Mylife on a glass serum bottle and a textured kraft box. The readability was strong, even at smaller point sizes for ingredient highlights and taglines. The stylistic alternates and ligatures allowed me to create a unique lockup for the product labels. It added a premium, thoughtful touch without sacrificing legibility. This is often where script fonts fail, but Mylife handled the practical demands of packaging design well. It looked like it belonged on a boutique shelf.

I also tested it on a business card and a simple homepage hero section. On the business card, the font maintained its clarity and presence. On the website, I used the webfont version for the main headline and a few accent phrases. It worked beautifully for short, impactful text. For social media graphics, Mylife added a layer of texture and human connection that is often missing from standard sans-serif or serif fonts. It elevated the overall visual identity without requiring heavy design work.

The Practical Side: Limitations and Best Use Cases

No font is a universal solution, and Mylife has its specific strengths. It is best used as a display font, headline font, logo font, or accent typeface. It excels in short, expressive contexts where its personality can shine. Using it for long body text, lengthy paragraphs, or formal corporate documents would not be advisable. The readability drops significantly at very small sizes for extended reading, which is typical for script fonts. It is not suited for data-heavy reports, lengthy editorial bodies, or highly formal communication.

From a technical perspective, Mylife includes a solid range of OpenType features. I found the stylistic alternates and ligatures particularly useful for customizing the logo and packaging lockups. The ampersands in the Script Amp category are always a highlight, and Mylife does not disappoint. It also includes multilingual support, which is essential for broader brand applications. The font file formats are standard and work well in design software, and the webfont version performed smoothly on the test site.

A quick note on licensing: always verify the commercial license terms for Mylife before using it in final client deliverables, packaging, digital products, or print-on-demand merchandise. This is a standard step that protects both you and your client. It is a premium font, and respecting the licensing ensures that the creators can continue to produce high-quality typefaces.

Font Pairing and System Integration

If you are working Mylife into a brand system, pairing it with a minimal modern serif or a clean geometric sans-serif creates a strong visual hierarchy. The contrast between the expressive script and a neutral sans-serif works well for headlines and body copy. Avoid pairing it with another expressive script or handwritten font, as it can quickly look cluttered and compete for attention. A simple pairing strategy is to let Mylife be the voice of the brand and let a supporting typeface handle the informational hierarchy.

My advice for testing Mylife is to print it. See how it feels on a shop sign mockup, a product label, and a business card. Check the kerning and tracking at different sizes. Adjust the color and spacing to see how it interacts with the overall design. Mylife is a versatile tool, but like any premium font, it performs best when used intentionally and with a clear understanding of its strengths.

Mylife is a solid addition to any designer's toolkit. It is a modern script that delivers on the promise of personal expression without sacrificing the clean lines needed for professional branding. It earned a permanent spot in my library, and it is the kind of font that instantly elevates a project when used correctly. Whether you are working on a boutique identity, a product label, or a creative studio's visual presence, Mylife offers a reliable and elegant solution for authentic branding.
